Course Details:

2 full days - 9.30am - 4pm

About the Course:

From One Reward to the Next
- an immersive R+ weekend with Eva Bertilsson

Finally an opportunity for practical dog training with Eva in England!

An opportunity for a small group of 6 dog/handler teams (who will also function as “demo dogs” for the group) plus up to 12 people without dogs.

We’ll spend the weekend looking at behaviours everywhere, and explore how we can set dogs and people for success working “from one reward to the next” all the way from the parking lot and into focused training sessions. We’ll vary between working with one dog at a time, working in smaller groups, and discussion time. Exactly what we’ll do will depend on what’s beneficial for the individual teams, and might range all the way from relaxed behaviour in the parking lot to refining details in trick training or competition behaviours.

Some of the topics we’ll work on:
*ABCs everywhere! (Antecedents, Behaviors, Consequences)
*Being at the venue
*Training session structure
*Pause vs “focus bubble”
*Starting points and reward deliveries

For whom?

Positive reinforcement trainers, experienced dog owners, those just starting on their positive reinforcement journey who want to learn more.  This weekend will not fail to increase your learning at all levels.

Dog teams: Various experience levels welcome! Handlers should be used to training with positive reinforcement, and since we’ll be at the venue for two full days the participating dogs should be comfortable being in the same room as people and other dogs and be okay with having down time during discussions and while other dogs are working.  We’ll set the environment up to be as helpful as possible for everyone!  If you are unsure, please get in touch to discuss further.
