About the Weekend

Day One -  Placeboard Training

We will look at introducing the placeboard with foundations. Then throughout the day we will look at using the placeboard for training stays, retrieve delivery , steadiness, the stop, distance control and redirection.

Day Two - Motivational Training for Gundogs This is a day of motivational training for gundog. We will look at hunting, retrieving and obedience (heel, stop, recall) Managing  and Controlling Arousal and Impulse Control.

 

Who is it for?

This is suitable for beginners and those who already have experience in gundog training.

About the trainer

Jane Ardern BSc (Hons) Dip CAPBT CAP2 owns Wagga-Wuffins Canine College. Jane's career before dog training was in Management, Project Management, Training and Development and Business Improvement. She has worked through large and small business change and knows how to manage stress, improve processes, motivate people and build self belief. She has been training dogs for over 20 years and has been working full time as a professional for over 10 years.

 

Jane has a BSc (Hons) in Canine Behaviour and Training from Hull University, an Advanced Diploma in the Practical Aspects of Companion Animal Behaviour and Training and CAP2. She is the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor Scheme Dog Trainer of the Year 2015 a prestigious award presented to her at Crufts 2016 in March. Jane has a City and Guilds Award in Education and Training. She is a member of the Coape Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers (CAPBT), The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT UK) Membership no. 1058 and a Registered Animal Trainer with the Animal Training and Behaviour Council (ATBC). She shares her home currently with five dogs, a 12 year old polish lowland sheepdog Snoopy, and four working cocker spaniels, Pickles, The Stig, Mia and Drift. Jane breeds Working Cocker Spaniels under the Riverirk Affix and works them regularly through the season.

 

Timings
9.30 registration and coffee for a 10am start to finish at 4pm.


Other Information
The course includes homemade cakes & refreshments.  You will need to bring a packed lunch.
