What is Fear Free?

Fear Free provides online and in-person education to veterinary professionals, the pet professional community, and pet owners.  Our courses provide learners and pet lovers with the knowledge and tools to not only look after a pet’s physical well-being, but her emotional well-being as well. We know we must feed the pet’s mind as well as the body so we make sure that in-home enrichment and Fear Free training are front-and-center with pet professionals and pet owners alike.

Founded by “America’s Veterinarian,” Dr. Marty Becker, Fear Free has become one of the single most transformative initiatives in the history of companion animal practice, with over 25,000 veterinary and pet professionals committed to becoming Fear Free certified.

About the Speaker

Linda Ryan has been a veterinary nurse for 18 years, much of which has been in specialist/referral centres. She has specialist/advanced nursing qualifications, including the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Medical), & the Veterinary Technician Specialist in Oncology.

Linda feels that veterinary nursing & behavioural health & welfare go hand-in-hand, & her interest in training & behaviour has evolved over her nursing career as she became more aware of its importance to patient’s needs in their veterinary care. In 2012, Linda became a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behaviour, & is now proud to be faculty member at the Academy. She has since gone on to further advance her training & education in behaviour, & is currently credentialing for a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Behavior.

She owns & runs Inspiring Pet Teaching, aimed at pet & owner training & education, as well as CPD provision - she regularly writes & presents for the veterinary press & at CPD events for VNs, pet professionals & owners.
