Treats are essential for training.  It is important to select suitable foods
that are of high value to the dog, will not cause choking whilst on the
move or excessive thirst and are cheap and easily available.
Treats are used in larger amounts when clicker training

The following foods are ideal:
· Tesco Value Chicken Roll
· Chilled Frankfurters (Tesco do packs of 10 for 99p)
· Tesco Value Garlic Sausage
· Tesco Value Pork Luncheon Meat
· Cheese (edam is a good choice especially in warm weather)
Of course any supermarket meats & cheese are OK too; these are
just the ones we use

We would suggest a selection rather than sticking to one choice.
The sandwich meat is good for one choice as it doesn’t roll on the floor.
The chicken is particularly good at being easily seen by the dogs
whereas the pork meat can blend into the floor colouring.
You will quickly identify what works best for your and your dog.

The sandwich meats freeze well and the frankfurters and cheese have
a good date life so you can take advantage of offers when they are on.

The following are not ideal:
· Dry commercial treats of all types } these can cause choking and
· Kibble or biscuits   } excessive thirst
· Complete Dog Food   } can cause choking and
} will cause your dog to put weight on
